Environmental Tour

Easy RiderOur day tour is aimed at people with a keen interest in the environment. The tour looks at environmental problems and the unique ecology of the Western Cape.

Registered Field Guides or environmental specialists are our guides to ensure that you gain as much as possible in the limited time available on a day tour.

Whales (in season June to October)
Visit a Fynbos reserve and Hermanus, the best land-based whale watching spot in the world. Ideal for the outdoor enthusiast. No visit to the Western Cape would be complete with out the unique experience offered by our tour.

Flower Route (in season September to October)
Once a year the West Coast displays its multicoloured floral carpet. These flowers appear after the first spring rain and mesmerize us with their beauty for approximately two months. A must for every flower lover and photographer.

This tour follows the spectacular coastline of the Cape Peninsula starting from False Bay with its colourful seaside villages and fishing harbours. Visit Africa's penguin colony at Boulders Beach before continuing to the most south -westerly tip of Africa, where traditional also holds the two oceans meet. Discover the Cape Floral Kingdom and local fauna in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve (look out for baboons, ostrich, bontebok!) After lunch the road continues along scenic Chapman's Peak Drive into Hout Bay fishing village, where an optional boat cruises to view the Cape Fur Seals is offered. We return via the Atlantic seaboard passing the beautiful beaches of Lladudno, Camps Bay and Clifton.

For seafood lovers this tour is a must! Leaving behind Cape Town, our first stop is at an ostrich ranch for a guided tour. The road then winds up the West Coast to reach Langebaan Lagoon, South Africa's richest wetland for waterbirds and a natural reserve. After a stroll along the lagoonside, we traverse the West Coast National Park, keeping an eye open for ostrich, bontebok, zebra and eland. At Saldanha Village the seafood feast awaits (we provide the wine). Relax on the beach and take in the wonderful views. Mid-afternoon we retrace our route back to Cape town with a stop to view Table Mountain at Blouberg Beach.

A 2 or 3-day tour of the West Coast is also available. Highlights include Paternoster, Lamberts Bay and Bushmanskloof Private Game Reserve in the beautiful Cederberg Reserve.

Table Mountain Tour

A visit to Table Mountain is a must, weather permitting. Board the cable car to the top where you can take in the spectacular Cape Peninsula. A guide will introduce you to the unique fauna and flora of the mountain.

Cape Point Tour

Visit the famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens before travelling along the coast to the Cape of Good Hope Reserve. Here you will board the "Flying Dutchman" to reach the hillcrest. After lunch, we return along Chapman's Peak, Hout Point, Sea Point and the city.

3 Day Tour

Day 1: Departing Cape Town we head straight for Clanwilliam to visit the Ramskop Garden and walk around the town. From there we head for Vanhynsdorp via Klawer. We overnight in Vanhyndorp.

Day 2: With our picnic baskets packed, we head north into Namaqualand to either Garies or Kamieskroon- we will be going where the flowers are the best. We return to Vanrhynsdorp to overnight.

Day 3: After an early breakfast we head for Niewoudtville and down into the spectacular Biedouw Valley and return to Cape Town via Pakhuis Pass, Clanwilliam and Citrusdal.
